Scottie Pippen Lists Ft. Lauderdale Compound

scottie pippenFormer Chicago Bulls All-Star and basketball Hall of Famer Scottie Pippen and his wife, Larsa, have put their Fort Lauderdale, Fla., waterfront mansion in the exclusive Harbour Beach community on the market for $16 million.

The 6-bed, 7.5 bath 9,782-square-foot home was built by the Pippens in 2004 after lots of searching around South Florida for the right home. They ended up buying more than just this home in the Harbour Beach area. Listing agent Barbara Panton of Panton Realty told AOL Real Estate, "They were purchased as investment pieces."

Pippen -- pictured left with Justin Bieber at last week's celebrity All Star basketball game in Los Angeles -- appears to be living large in Fort Lauderdale. Agent Panton worked directly with Larsa Pippen, formulating the plans for the buildout, making sure the home was built of the best quality possible. It resulted in the perfect home for them to raise their four children. Although no interior photos of the property have been released it features a basketball court, fireplace, French doors, an elevator, swimming pool with slide, built-in grill, open balcony, state-of-the-art kitchen appliances. The double lot also features 215 feet of waterfront with space for a 120-foot boat and a quick five-minute ride to the ocean.

So why sell their home at this exclusive address with a private beach and only 300 homes?

"The reason for the sale is not so much because they had to sell or are going to definitely sell

Search Homes for Salebecause they both love Florida and Fort Lauderdale, it's more a question of them deciding whether they will live here or in Chicago," Panton says. Pippen works for the Chicago Bulls and Larsa's family is also in Chicago. Besides, Larsa is probably either done or almost done wrapping filming the Real Housewives of Miami reality TV show

As far as assessing the value of their home, Panton says it's on par with other properties in the area: "It would be very good for the area and very helpful."

The house has been on the market for less than a year and Panton says she only shows it to a select few who qualify for it. "Right now, they're basically deciding whether it's better overall for what they like to do, and they like it in Chicago too so they can fluctuate from where they want to be."

Sounds like the Pippens aren't in a rush to unload their Florida home, especially since their kids attend school in the area.

Nate Berkus Lists Chicago Condo for $2.65M

Interior designer Nate Berkus is trying to sell his 3,980-square-foot condo on Chicago's Gold Coast for $2.65 million, which would prove quite a return on investment since this 39-year-old paid only $500,000 for it in 2003.

"While the market has had it's share of ups and downs over the past few years, I think we're seeing some stability," listing agent Katherine Chez of Coldwell Banker told AOL Real Estate. That should bode well for Berkus.

Berkus, who grew his fame on the Oprah Winfrey Show, did several renovations on the three-bedroom, four-bath unit, including installing new hardwood floors, completely rehabbing the master bath with a custom English tub and white subway tiles up the walls, reconfiguring the master suite, and adding a new backsplash and appliances in the kitchen, according to the listing details.

Glen Campbell Lists Malibu Home at $5.9M

Like the rhinestone cowboy that he is, country singer Glen Campbell is riding out on a horse in a star-spangled rodeo. OK, maybe more like a BMW than a horse, and I don't think Malibu. Calif., has ever actually held a real rodeo. But Campbell's house was just listed for sale at $5,950,000, and it sure is star-spangled.

He's owned the 6,540-square-foot Mediterranean home since 2006. Title records don't indicate what he paid for it. The home has outdoor dining, garden and pool areas and views of the Santa Monica Bay and Catalina Island. It has four bedrooms and 6.5 bathrooms with lots of high-end craftsmanship. There's a home theater and a great kitchen with a center island.

Campbell, described as a living legend and with enough ex-wives to prove it, broke records in 1975 with his recording of "Rhinestone Cowboy." In his 50 years as an entertainer, Campbell has released more than 70 albums and sold more than 45 million records. He made history in 1967 when he won four Grammys in both the country music and pop categories. He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2005.

His signature "Rhinestone Cowboy" continues to be heard on movie soundtracks and on TV, including "Desperate Housewives."

In fact, we suspect that listing agent Bryan Harper of Coldwell Banker Malibu is humming these lines right now:

"Like a rhinestone cowboy
Getting cards and letters from people I don't even know
And offers comin' over the phone . . ."

Ashton Kutcher Lists Bachelor Pad for $2.6M

It may be no surprise that social media-savvy Ashton Kutcher, who is a Twitter and Facebook addict, is using the Internet to cross-promote his Hollywood Hills home for sale and a nonprofit organization he and his wife, Demi Moore, founded.

The $2.6 million listing of his 4-bedroom, 4.5-bathroom Beverly Hills-area former bachelor pad debuted exclusively on Zillow.com yesterday under Hilton & Hyland real estate agent Gary Gold, who tells AOL Real Estate that he is a top Internet marketer because "people buy homes on the Internet. For the most part they will never see your house if they don't see it on the Internet."

But for Gold, the executive vice president of luxury real estate-focused Hilton & Hyland, don't think there are No Strings Attached to him having the actor's listing. Gold will donate a portion of his commission to the Demi and Ashton Foundation (DNA), the Winter-Spring couple's non-profit organization that raises awareness about and helps victims of human trafficking and child sex slave trade industry.
