1. Entrepreneurs are generally self-starters who like challenges.
Despite the perceptions you may have about operating a small business, and despite all the amazing stories you find in magazines and on TV, running your own business involves countless responsibilities that many people would find boring or tedious. You can forget about spending your day gossiping over the water cooler or wasting time in organizational meetings while getting little work done for your present company.
As a small business owner, it's up to you to make sure the critical things (and a lot of little things in between) get done and get done correctly.
2. Entrepreneurs are disciplined and are able to work on their own when necessary.
For many people, starting a business can be extremely difficult at first because you will need to do a quite a few things on your own and give up socializing with coworkers. On the other hand, you may enjoy your time alone and be glad to get rid of those annoying colleagues of yours!
Working on your own also means getting the job done without supervision from a supervisor or manager.
3. Entrepreneurs are willing to make a serious long-term commitment to their business dreams.
Few businesses are successful overnight. You're going to have to commit considerable time to your new business. Can you see yourself working 40, 50, 60,or even more hours per week for the next year or two (or even the next few years) in order to achieve your goals?
Many people dream about starting their own business in order to make a loads of money, and that is certainly feasible if you're good at what you do. However, the business world is all about the survival of the fittest, and you're going to have a very difficult time competing if you aren't interested in your product or service and can't motivate yourself (and your employees) to get excited about these services.
