Ever wanted to punch and bind Wire-O, Spiral Binding Plastic Coil and Plastic Comb, but don't have the space or money to invest in three separate machines? We heard your requests, which is why we are now introducing the James Burn 4-in-1 Binding Station. With one fairly compact unit (measuring 19.7" L x 15.75" W x 23.6" H) you have the capability to punch and bind Wire-O, Spiral Binding Plastic Coil and Plastic Comb without switching machines. But why is it called a 4-in-1 when there are only three binding stations? For those familiar with Wire-O Binding, you know that there are two punching patterns: a 2:1 and 3:1 Pitch. There are two Wire-O dies in this machine, one for each punching pattern, but they can both use the same wire closer. Interchangeable die machines can be a hassle to change out and store; die change with the 4-to-1 is easy and requires no tools! All you need to do it rotate the small handle on the right to switch dies—yes, it's that simple. Electric punching eliminates operator fatigue and allows for punching speeds up to 30,000 sheets per hour. This 4-in-1 Binding Station features fully disengageable pins that allow for punching on any size document up to 12". The closed throat does not allow for sheets wider than this. You can punch approximately 30-35 sheets of 20# bond paper, which is more than most punching machines in its class. The Wire-O Closer is manual and operated by a handle. Simply set the closer to the size of wire you are using, set the book in the opening, and pull the handle to close the wire. The Plastic Comb Spreader is also manual. You place your combs in between the spreader teeth, pull the handle to open the combs, place your sheets on the open comb, and then punch the handle back to close the comb around your book. The Spiral Binding Plastic Coil Inserter is electric, so all you need to do is manually insert the coil through the first few holes of your book, and then hold the book to the inserting machine to complete the insertion. You then need to manually cut and crimp the coil using hand cutter crimper pliers. Round holes are a thing of the past; the Spiral Binding punch is oval, which makes inserting drastically easier than with round holes. One thing to consider with this binding station is the weight; it weighs about 220 pounds unpackaged, so can be difficult to move around. We recommend avoiding the hassle of moves by storing it on a mobile binding workstation, which are also available.
Not only is the James Burn 4-in-1 Binding Station the easiest and smallest all-in-one binding station on the market, but the all-metal construction makes it heavy duty and durable for medium to high volume usage.
